AirCleaner is a solid-state HD/SD digital video/audio delay system targeted for today’s live-to-air broadcasts, equipped with two HD/SD-SDI video inputs and two HD/SD-SDI video outputs. AirCleaner handles 8 tracks (4 stereo pairs) of digital audio for each of the two video I/O streams, with audio embedded in the digital video I/O or as discrete AES/EBU. The unique architecture of AirCleaner offers four different modes of operation; two of these modes configure the system to work like a traditional delay machine, while the other two offer a distinct new way of operation that allow AirCleaner to be configured as two delay lines in series, with support for two operators. It’s like having two delay systems in a single machine. Furthermore, AirCleaner can be programmed to produce a “defocus” masking effect for the video, which simulates a camera rack focus operation; this provides a much more pleasing, and much less noticeable visual masking effect, compared to a cut to a “safe” video feed.
